Good Reasons For Getting Away Alone
Posted on 12/21/2009
Taking the space you need to consider what you really want for yourself can be the beginning of the end or a new start together.
It is hard to make the right decision for yourself when you have a frightened partner continually dogging your footsteps, asking for reassurance that he or she is still loved.
It is impossible to make the best decision for yourself unless you are free to entertain all your options, even those you think are impossible or silly.
Getting away just to be alone with your thoughts and ponder what is best for you is a wonderful experience.
Unfortunately, couples often wait until they’ve already decided to separate for good or want to be with a lover before they take the necessary time to reconsider their lives.
How wonderful to know that you are always free to chose what your life will become. Having control over your life is the sign of a free person.
Some good reasons for taking time by yourself away from your relationship:
- Because you can’t stand it anymore and want to figure out what you want to do.
- Because you are confused.
- Because you are not sure if you are still in love.
- Because you feel too close to the relationship and too distant from yourself.
- Because you want to leave.
- Because you are trying to figure out the conditions under which you will agree to stay.
- Because you love someone else.
- Because it is difficult to love yourself where you are.
- Because you are just tired and bored with the other person’s problems and want to see what the world feels like without them, at least for a while.
- Because you are not taken seriously and need to show your partner that you mean it when you say you want to make things better.
- Because you are abused.
- Because you need a new perspective on life.
