Catholic Match Is Actually Singles Purgatory

Save your money, they will find a way to extract it from you. You cannot tell who is a paying member or not. You are supposed to convince people that leave to return, like that is somehow your job. The female moderator is bitter, very rude to women, and part of the problem. This site is run by two very young, very greedy men. If they don't agree with something you have posted, they censor it! The forums are evil places, where the weak and un-studied are bullied. there are forums where the women talk about the men. They use their names, reprint private emails, make fun of them. This is not supposed to happen, but it is rampant.
My first time there I came dangerously close to meeting a man who had gone on CM when he was separated. A beautiful 60 year old woman was devastated to find out that her CM fiancé of 6 months was in fact MARRIED. Help tickets are ignored, there is no customer service, loyalty, protections, or TRUST.
Women over 50 are expected to stick to the forums seeking friendship only. You will find men that are women haters, gigolos, gay, emotionally unhinged and married.
CM needs a class action lawsuit that targets them for fraud and abuse. They also I understand, kick people off the site for anything. And keep their money. Also, check the automatic renewal, because you won't get your money back . I'm just a single woman. Why did they treat me like the enemy?

If you want to buy a house, you would have to get the personal loans. Moreover, my mother always takes a bank loan, which seems to be really useful.

CM does not make sure members are who they say they are

I met someone on CatholicMatch, and we dated for a month and a half before I found out that he is MARRIED! And he met his wife on CatholicMatch. They had only been married for about 4 months when he was back on CatholicMatch, and then he contacted me. I reported him to the website, and to their credit, he has been removed, but BE CAREFUL about the people you meet. I never had this issue when I was on eHarmony, though that's not to say that it doesn't happen there. But I never thought it would be an issue on CatholicMatch.

Hypocrisy

I've only been in the site for less than one week, and originally, as probably most folks, I was naive when I signed up. I actually wanted to believe that the site was Roman Catholic affiliated or governed, but realised a dating site is a dating site, whether Muslim, Hindu, Roman Catholic, or otherwise. I sense that the members, generally, are not sincere in their faith, and have utilised the site for ulterior motives, whatever they may be, but evidently self gratification plays a significant role. Contrary to the teachings of the church, members are generally conceited, greedy, arrogant, insensitive, and indifferent. Me me me..., victims of societal mores and incapable of developing the courage to walk forth in the true spirit of the church, selflessly and meekly. "I travelled here and there, and I am great.", "I have a spectacular job in sales and marketing and a nine-year-old (adopted, mail order) child from Ethiopia, but I lack the presence of a special person in my life. If someone fits into my life and exact situation, then great, if not, then no biggie, because I've got my friends and family", "I have the best friends and the best family in the whole wide world, I must be the best.", "I don't really need anyone in my life, but if I happen to meet someone in this site, then great.", "My friends say that I am a magnificent person.", "I am 37 years old, but don't really care if I get married or not; I'm just here to meet people.", "I am a beautiful woman, and I should have been a model, but chose a career in high finance, where the action is, but now I'm in my late thirties, and beginning to think about settling down with that certain lucky someone.", "Don't contact me if you make less than seventy k.", "Thanks to all, but only shortlisted candidates will receive initial notification."....blah, blah, blah. If these members are also members of the Catholic church, then I suggest that the true Roman Catholics are those who do not boastfully call themselves this. Catholicism is a way of life, it is not a matter of membership nor social rank; unfortunately, most of the women in the site are not aware of this, or ignore it completely. Women have too much power, and they know it, but there should be no room for this attitude in the church--it needs to be more vigilant in rejoicing in fewer true members, rather than striving for an excess of materialistic and superficial ones. In my brief experience, this site embodies this sort. Very disappointing. I am thankful for having the insight not to purchase a membership, which incidentally, the prices of which speak clearly of the business nature of the site, which uses the name "Catholic" in order to draw a profit. I was really looking forward to signing up here, but after reading those review, why on earth would I? Brian, what a disappointment. How do you sleep at night? And cowering under the guise of Catholic, for shame.

caution extreme views ahead

I was unfairly accused of personal attacts on the forums when I did no such thing. Actually, it was a moderator who made the first wise crack.
I was a fool for falling for a flamer. A young kid who wanted to post about his extreme views. Innocently, I thought I was answering his questions about current U.S. law. Out came the trolls.
I was attacked by women and men alike. It made me realize that I do not want anything to do with these people. My help ticket went unanswered. Instead, the administrators, Brian or Nathan, or possibly the moderators re-wrote my profile!!! Yes, they have my money! Yes, I am a paying customer.
Unless you also have extreme beliefs and never plan to meet someone, avoid this site. It's a huge waste of time. There's very little contact between men and women. Good luck on getting someone to respond to your efforts to meet someone.
Save yourself the grief and heartache. Re-read Richard's post above. This is one really mess up "dating" site.

The worst customer service I have EVER dealt with....

This has to be the worst customer service that I have EVER dealt with in my entire life. I was arbitrarily booted off the website. I could not get a hold of anyone. I FINALLY talked to the owner of the site, Mr. Brian Barcaro, and he was EXTREMELY RUDE to me over the phone. I was shocked. After giving him 2 years of business, he did not resolve my issue with him. He talked down to me and was very "self-righteous." I highly recommend that you do NOT sign up for this website as I have a had a horrible experience with them.

The site was good a year or two ago. Now it is full of pretentious members who have been on there for ever. Gee I wonder why? If you criticize any of the nonsense in the forums you get a polite warning from Brian (one of the owners) putting you on probation. If you profess or discuss anything that the "moderators" (insert owners) disagree with they harass you and make the entire experience pointless and dispiriting. It was entirely reminiscent of high school nonsense with emails from members chastising your beliefs. Eventually if you do not acquese they cancel your membership. Its really childish and ridiculous. They even go so far as to cloak demeaning comments which are engineered to attack your opinions with false platitudes like "I will pray for you" if you happen to disagree with them. There are really no women on there truly looking for relationships. They get caught up on calling people sinner and fornicators if they kiss on first date. Nonsense like that . Just keep away. You and God know your conscious. You do not need a site of moderators to tell you how Catholic you are :-)

I don't recommend this website!

They are unreasonable and strict. They remove your account very easily on a hunch, then you can't get a hold of them unless you submit a "ticket." But they never get back to you on the ticket. Then when you do all of this research and finally find their contact number, they get rude and defensive as to why you contacted them about having your profile removed. The owner, Brian, talks down to you and treats you like you are in 3rd grade and is very "self-righteous." The whole website has no class at all and is completely unprofessional. After sucking in all of my money for being a paying customer on the site for 2 years, they suddenly remove my profile based on a hunch when all of the accusations were false. I am very very frustrated by what they did. Will not recommend this site to anyone!

Phone contact information for Catholic Match..

I have had terrible luck with catholic match They are unprofessional, rude, and do not get back to you. They will also find a way to kick you off the site for no apparent reason after sucking in your money for years. I am possibly leaning towards taking legal action against them for this. I had to do a lot of research to find their phone number, but they are part of the "LLC" group and their number is 888-605-3977. The person to talk to is Brian, he is the co-founder of the website. I would NOT recommend this website at all!!! Do not sign up for Catholic Match They were very very unprofessional to me. And after giving them 2 years of business, they were quick to boot me off the site based off of false information from another member and would not let me back on, which I think is a very classless thing to do for someone who had been a paying customer for years. When I did finally get a hold of them via the phone, they were very defensive and they were defensive as to why they wouldn't let me back on. They were also very defensive as to why they don't have phone contact information.

They automatically renewed my membership which I did not authorize. Can't get in touch with them to !cancel.. No phone number!!!!!!

I signed up for one month, but once they had my creditcard info they kept charging me. I tried to to find their phone number or an email address but there is no information on how to contact them,

Why this site is illegitimate. Catholic Match employees or administrators strike up chats with you to get you stay on. Appalling, I know, but it's about the money....it's a buisness

Don't trust CM with too much money

The features are nice and the vast majority of the *users* of the site are wonderful people. I was a user of their site for years, and met quite a few great Catholics. Sadly, as the site has become more popular, the owners have lost touch with their user base.... or simply doesn't give a damn.

The big problem with the site is the capricious way that the admins enforce the terms of service. If you post something to the forums or your profile that they decide to deem "objectionable"... you're out, with no refund. The basis of their judgment is very typically arbitrary.... there are almost always examples of much "worse" that one can point to.

My advice would be to pay for 30 days, use the site heavily... make some friends and connect to them on *facebook* or some other free social networking site. A great user community has found it's way onto CM in *spite* of the current attitude of the owners of the business.

Horrible site

Don't waste your money. The forums are filled with a lot of hate filled people. Administration will let people gang up on others. Lots of Cafeteria Catholics. There are some good, orthodox members, but lots of rude, hateful people.

Suspicious of Catholic Match

I signed up knowing there are not a lot of Catholics in my area. There were even less on CM than I expected.

I had a handful of matches before I signed up, nearly none during my six month membership, then 10 the day after my subscription expired. That's what I'm suspicious of.

I don't recommend this site. I live in the 33rd largest city in America. When I do a search within +/-10 years of my age there are four matches.

Note on "limited functionality"

Note that the complain isn;t that one has limited access if one is a free user... the complaint is that a **paid** user can't tell if the person s/he is trying to contact is a paid or free user. Since the free user has **very** limited capability to contact others, this is a liability

Catholic's?

I will say there are alot of Catholics on this site... I just find in general There are many "devout Catholics" Many of the catholics on this site give a big speech about loving God and Faith, but many many many of them are shallow, selfish, hypocrites.

You could meet a loving catholic woman.... who parties like crazy, no self respect, no "values". The values most people put here are false and mostly lies.

Another thing I dont understand is that you meet many people on here who say "In a relationship", and how they found Their Life Mate thanks to God....But there still on the site meeting new people...?? Ummm what? Doesn't this person have enough friends? arent your friends good enough too? I just find it strange how you can say you met the love of your life and still be on the site "Searching"? Usually if you have found a committed loving relationship you stop searching? I find most people on this site.... After all this is a "dating site for catholics"

This site is a dating site yes, And if thats all your looking for, its just that, same as any other....If you looking for "Catholic Dating" And trying to find someone devout who shares "REAL" religious beliefs...please look elsewhere. There is no difference between the qaulity of people on this site. I came here looking for Ideals and morals, and from what I've Met....Near impossible to find.
