Well, DatingDirect was a good place for me to start dating again after my divorce. Although it is a very popular site in the UK, Dating Direct is also available to people in America.
I've met a few ladies on the site, but none have turned into real relationships at this time. I've even met a girl from the UK and made friends with her.
DatingDirect is a comfortable place to meet people from your own home.

Best of a bad bunch. These sites are overpriced, so don't hold their membership.
Search facilities have become very poor under the new site. Beware of what you are buying, as the site defaults to the biggest purchase and takes it without warning. Basic membership wont cut the ice nowadays, especially for men, and if you want to make the site do what it used to it will cost you the think end of £50 per month.
Was a real good site - the pick of the bunch. Then they got silly and greedy this spring: and 'upgraded', introducing lots of flashy unnecessary features their rivals had, and at the same time lost a lot of the better features their rivals didn't have like actual real members, and very good search tools. Under the old site you could search by new members in your chosen area - not any more.
Under the old site you could do a very specific search that gave you the mst recently active members first - not any more. Under the old site you were either a paid up member, or not - not any more. Now there are shades of membership, and the standard memberships costs the same as the old one, but there is a PLUS membership that allows you to talk to non-members but costs you twice as much: so you have to pay for THEIR membership.... If you don't do this you will get little action.
The new features also include IM - like what's the point???
If you want to talk on IM: go and talk on normal IM.
Other new features include the ability to not have a name, and use some weird handle - like the cheapo rival sites.
All in all, a sad deterioration in what was the king of the dating sites.
