Metro Date, based in the United Kingdom, is a completely free online dating site available in 20 different international versions. Profile browsing can be done by one’s preferences on the panel provided in their home page.
The website’s dating advice section can be viewed by anyone in their relationship articles and dating tips. Meanwhile, if the person chooses to ask for personalized advices, which are based on the person’s own situation, he can do so. This feature is also only for members.
Metro Date also supports its services by publishing success stories of its members who are now married and are together happily. There are couples who came from the same country, and there also couples that got married who are from different continents of the world. Furthermore, there are also posted testimonials from members.

I think Metro Date has a lot of "fake profiles" on their website because I just did a search for girls in my area and I found a profile for a women who looked exactly like Josie Moran. Yeah, like she'd be using Metro Date!

I have had a very good experience on metrodate. I met a potential date two days after putting up my profile & I have contacted men & have had a number of men contact me within the first few weeks of being on the site, some in the UK others aboard. It's great for finding a date or to make new friend's.

but i did get a couple of 'real' dates last year on it. i guess because i'm over 40 people most people in the dating market don't search my age group anyway :-(.
it's free, so it's worth giving it a try. beware of scams though. i'm sure a lot of the profiles are fake.

I joined 4 weeks ago after doing a search for Christian singles in my home town and this site was the first to come up. I was surprised to see someones profile who I knew personally years ago. Wrote to them but the message has never been read. The same applies for all the NZ contacts I wrote to. Have all these people moved on but profiles remain?
There are a few scams out there but they do not wait around when you don't give them the details/ help they ask for.
Impression I have is some of the photos are not real person, some looking like professional models, 1 even had 4 photos, one looked like the real person and other 3 photos a different (more attractive) person.
Most people contacting me are from African and Eastern Block countries, both are on the other side of the world from NZ.
OK for the positive side there are some real people there and I am communicating with 3 people now who are very nice normal women and I look forward to 2 or 3 friendships through this site. Just unfortunate that no one in my own country has communicated.

This is the first on line dating I have used so I can not compare with others.
The strange thing after 4 weeks using it, is that No one in my country has contacted me and messages I sent to other people in the same country remain un-openned. So for meeting locals it is very disapointing. There is even 1 woman I know from years ago who's I find on Metrodate but she does not seem to be using this site anymore.
Internationally. I have had a steady number of smiles or messages coming in.
Some however do not seem to be who they say they are with Profiles not matching Photos and some photos appearing to be fake. Also there are some scams to be careful of which is unfortunate because it make it harder to confidently communicate with the good people.
On the good side, it has only cost me time (as it's free) and I am now writing to two ladies who are for real, and I may fly over to meet them in 2011.
And there are other good people out there, so just be careful. Good luck

I joined Metrodate e few days ago after i checked some profiles of girls i might be intersted in. they were regularly visiting this dating website. after sending my short messages to these women (24 messages ,i guess) ,none of these messages was opened, aswered,none of the girsl appears to be using the website. when i reviewed the safety regulations of metrodate,it was clear THEY BLOCKED ALL MY SENT MESSAGES. I sent many times my comment to Metrodate management- so far no answer.

I have gone in and out of metrodate, I also have met some wonderful people, together with spending time with them in person the holiday period. I prefer it when this site was not free. There was a fee. Perhaps I met those nice people in those times. I recently logged on to my old account to be shocked! I found someone else other than me using my profile, and sending messages from my account. I have tried to delete that account, with metrodate settings, yet the site won't allow me to re make a new account. I was shocked. I wasted 45 minutes oof my life, finally I gave up, yet Im happy to have met some wonderful people face to face thanks to the olde metro system Only. The new system I quite agree is full of fakes, or hackers, cause that is the only thing I can think of , person amatuer hacked into my profile.

and since it costs nothing ... you get nothing. There are more fake profiles then I have ever seen on other dating sites COMBINED! That "new system" they use for finding fake profiles is a bust! You have a photo that was OBVIOUSLY from a men's clothing site, with their nationality as "Native American" and 6'7 when he looks like a regular old Caucasian with the stature of a man no more than 5'8 you can bet it's a fake profile. Yet Metrodate let's it go thru. I spend more time flagging fake sites then getting results. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

I haven't met anyone off the site yet, and probably for my safety it's a good thing I haven't. Alot of messages from not-so-attractive OLD creepy men wanting to show me their various body parts without clothes covering them. Yes, the site is free..Yes, there are scammers...the typical free wanna-be dating site stuff....I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone..especially those who get nauseous quickly.

This site is generally great. I have met 4 very good quality women locally and internationally and Im in my mid forties. A smart person can easily figure out the fake from the non fake.

Dear All
I joined the site about one month ago and the only thing I got was 97% of the men asking me for money with different sober stories.
I know this website is free but so are a lot of others but the scammers look so many as soon as you exchange personal email then the beg for money starts.
These men I wonder where they are from and they all claim to live in US on their profile.
Since I included I will not send money to anyone on my profile no matter your story the email stopped comming in.
Please try and filter these fake people out because it gives metrodate a bad name.
