PositiveSingles Review
Dating is difficult enough. But navigating the dating world when you have a sexually transmitted disease can feel impossible and lonely. It’s easy to feel like your disease will prevent you from ever finding love and acceptance with another person.
However, Positive Singles is an online dating website looking to change that. Positive Singles is a site for people with Herpes, HPV, HIV or AIDS looking for serious relationships, love, or friendship. This site has earned a reputation as the 'best, largest and completely anonymous, most trusted' STD dating site on the web. Positive Singles works hard to create a warm, accepting online environment for positive singles from all walks of life where they can meet other people facing similar challenges.
Cost
Registration is free and extremely simple. Users fill out a quick form to initiate the free membership and there are no questions about personal health at this stage. It is up to each user to share details about their health and how they choose to manage their disease. Free users can view other profiles and have access to basic features.
Features
To have access to all of the site’s many features, users must purchase the Gold Membership. The membership starts at $29.95 for one month, but users can purchase longer memberships for a lower monthly investment. Overall, the site’s rates are on the high end in the online dating realm. But users will find that they get a lot for their investment.
Positive Singles has most of the standard features expected from online dating websites. Users can create a profile and post pictures, and browse through the many profiles on the site using the intuitive search feature. Users can communicate with each other using winks, flirts, and a high quality email service provided by Positive Singles. The most impressive communication feature is the online chat function, which allows users to create groups including their favorite members.
Positive Singles leaves the matchmaking up to the user. Users can search profiles on their own and initiate contact with those who interest them. However, the site does have several features to help with the matchmaking process, including the relationship calculator, which allows users to generate matches based on their profile questionnaire. Also, Positive Singles actively fights online dating scams and dangers with an ID Checker, which is included on the site and allows users to verify the identities of other users.
Community
Positive Singles is a community of people living with sexually transmitted diseases as well as a dating website. The forums provide a platform for users to discuss important topics, such as dating, tips and advice about STDs, news, dating, and others and users really take advantage of these tools to bond with other people on the site, develop friendships, and offer support. This community is about acceptance and bonding over the challenges of living with sexually transmitted diseases.
Editor’s Opinion
Overall, Positive Singles is a specialty dating site that really goes above and beyond the call of duty to create a result-driven online dating service as well as a supporting, non-judgmental community for singles living with sexually transmitted diseases. The site focuses on quality, not quantity, and offer many features that are sure to be of value to positive singles as they navigate the dating world.

I like the site but think there are a lot of fake profiles on there. My thinking is they are generated by the site to attract males. I have been on that site and chatted with almost all the women that I am interested in. Many made me think I would be happy with them. They couldn't wait to meet me. I am a sincere man just looking for forever. Guess what? I never heard from most of them again after I paid for a membership. Go figure. I am a hot male in case you're wondering....the full package...no not being conceited, just honest :)

Active forums, but that's about it.
Like any other site, you have to pay to send/receive email or use any of the more useful (and timesaving) utilities.
At least they have tiered pricing now; when I was a member it was a flat $30/month. However I gave it a three month test drive and it was a failure. Fair amount of women but never had a response. Like the ladies, I was selective in my searches but lacked responses. I'm under the impression that the majority of people sign up, use it for a bit and then cancel, without removing their profile. I saw very few new members in the time I was there; being a limited demographic has both advantages and disadvantages.
Just another in a string of online dating disappointments for me...you're better off just getting out in public rather than sitting in front of a screen hoping you'll find someone.
#4 POSITIVE SINGLES IS BEING SUED!
Anonymous on 01/30/2012
This site is being sued for their practice of taking your picture, profile, and anything you write on it's blogs and 'spidering' it to hundreds of other websites in their 'private label' network, some that have gay themes, kink themes, AIDS themes etc. For example, any member who signed up for Positive Singles can log on to a site called HIVGaymen.com using their same log in data and see their picture and profile on a site that supposedly caters to HIV positive gay men.
The problem is, not only does this affiliate site program grossly misrepresent the average person who signed up for Positive Singles, setting up a scenario where say, another person from their home town can venture on to this site and see that persons picture on a site that caters to HIV positive gay men, it also perpetrates a fraud against the HIV positive gay men who would sign up for this site thinking they are joining a site that caters exclusively to HIV positive gay men, when it in fact does not.
When you sign up for Positive Singles, you read language to the effect of "we care more about your privacy than other sites", and "we do not disclose, rent or sell your data to any third party organizations"....then you find out later they are doing this with your info. They NEVER publish a full list of all the sites they spider your profile to, and the fact they are even doing it is hidden in their terms of service where the average person is highly unlikely to see it, and the vast scale of the program is never mentioned.
This company had a good thing going, the highest site traffic numbers of all the STD dating sites. I expect that this lawsuit will change that very soon.
